Mega Millions Hits $25M After No One Wins in July Fourth Drawing

The Mega Millions jackpot soared to $25 million after no one scored the big win on July 4.

The winning numbers from the drawing were 16, 33, 39, 58, 69 and 2 for the Mega Ball. No one matched the first five numbers, with no Mega Ball match to win second place, worth a cool $1 million, either, the Mega Millions website said.

The next drawing will take place Tuesday.

On June 27, a ticket sold in Moulton, Texas, won the $33 million jackpot, although no one has stepped forward to claim it yet. A lump sum payout option on that ticket would be just over $19 million. Last week’s winner was the eighth of 2014 to grab the jackpot.

As the jackpot moved up through $15 million last week, on to $20 million on July 4 and now looms larger, it inspired some online to dream about winning.
