Images of a massive alligator walking on two different golf courses near Charleston, South Carolina, were captured by two different people Monday.

Instagram user @MayorJuan took video of an alligator walking on the Osprey Point Golf Course on Kiawah Island on Monday. The alligator strolled slowly across the course while golfers stood in the distance.

Later the same day, Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic marketer Carrie Moores took a photo of another huge gator during a charity golf tournament at the Kiawah Island Club’s River Course, just a few miles away from the first sighting.

This time, the gator appeared to be heading toward a group of golfers, who were alerted to its presence and scattered quickly, the The Post and Courier reported. The alligator then slipped into a pond and has not been seen again. It was unclear whether it was the same alligator on both golf courses.

Moores, who is from Connecticut, had never seen an alligator before outside the zoo. “It was literally a dinosaur,” she told The Post and Courier. “People said it was one of the largest ones they had ever seen.”

One Twitter user wondered if an alligator on the course was a playable hazard.
