Marli Hamblin, a 15-year-old Utah high schooler who was sunbathing in her driveway last week, died Sunday from injures she sustained after her older sister accidentally ran over her in a pickup truck.
Authorities told television station
KSTU-TV that Hamblin was lying on a blanket with headphone over her ears on the driveway of her home in Syracuse, which is 25 miles north of Salt Lake City, when her sister backed out of the family's garage about noon Friday.
"The driver wasn't paying attention, obviously didn't think there would be anyone in the driveway, and just backed out of the driveway," Syracuse Police Officer Erin Behm told KSTU-TV. Authorities said no charges are planned for the older sister.

"She's having a very difficult time, beating herself up, all we can do is encourage her you know," said Ron Hamblin, their grandfather. "It's just an accident; it can happen to anybody at any given time."
The television station said that Marli Hamblin was taken by helicopter to Ogden Regional Medical Center. A Facebook page in her name stated Sunday that she died.
Family members told
KUTV that Marli Hamblin had made her high school cheerleading squad and was preparing to start classes this month.
"She's been working diligently to perfect her skills in that area," said Ron Hamblin, adding that incident has brought the family and community together.
"They've been surrounded by all kinds of friends, not only family but at the hospital," Ron Hamblin told KUTV. "My son's a Little League football coach, and all the coaches are there supporting him. So it's an awesome sight to see that happen."
