Manny Ramirez's new Japanese baseball contract has granted the former Major League All-Star some interesting perks, including unlimited sushi.

Ramirez, 44, ex-star of the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers, signed with the independent league Kochi Island Fighting Dogs, NESN reported. Ramirez has been out of the Major League Baseball since 2011 and last played for the Triple-A Iowa Cubs in 2014, according to NESN.

According to a translated summary of perks found on the website Yakyudb.com, Ramirez will receive free sushi throughout the season.

He also will receive the use of a Mercedes and a driver, a hotel suite on the road, and practice will be optional, the website noted. According to Yakyub.com, Ramirez said playing in Japan was one of his dreams and he was glad that it came true.

He added that he wanted to show baseball fans what he is still capable of and wants to play as long as he is still passionate about the game. Ramirez has been guaranteed a spot as the team's designated hitter with at least two plate appearances, according to Yakyub.com.

Ramirez was a 13-time All-Star in the Major Leagues with a career .312 batting average. He was a member of the 2004 Boston Red Sox team that won the World Series, breaking a drought that started in 1918, the New York Daily News noted. Ramirez was the most valuable player of the series.

He had appeared in five games with Tampa Bay before announcing his retirement April 8, 2011 following a 100-game drug suspension. After an appeal, the suspension was reduced to 50 games, according to his Minor League Baseball biography.

Some found humor about Ramirez's contract on social media.
