A 37-year-old Texas man is suing the date he took to see "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" because she reportedly wouldn't stop texting during the movie.

Brandon Vezmar filed a lawsuit against the unidentified woman he met online for $17.31, the price of the 3-D movie ticket he bought for her, in small claims court, the Austin American-Statesman reported.

The pair began to watch the movie at the Barton Creek Square theater when she pulled out her phone and began texting someone, Vezmar told the Statesman. The texting continued for the next 15 minutes, during which Vezmar said he asked her to stop and suggested she go outside if she wanted to text.

The woman left the theater and didn’t come back, Vezmar said, leaving him without a ride. He texted her a few days later and asked for the ticket money back, but she refused.

When the Statesman reached the woman by phone Tuesday, she was unaware of the lawsuit, She claimed she only texted two or three times and that she had her phone low and wasn’t bothering anyone.

“Oh my God,” she told the newspaper. “This is crazy.”

The woman also said she planned to file a protective order against Vezmar after he contacted her little sister to try to get the money for the movie ticket.

“I’m not a bad woman,” she told the Statesman. “I just went out on a date.”

The Twitter community basically thought the whole thing was ridiculous.
