Rush: Republican Race Down to 4 Real Candidates

By    |   Friday, 16 Dec 2011 12:57 PM

Last night’s debate showed the Republican race for the presidential nomination boils down to a four-person race between Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, Rick Perry, and Mitt Romney, Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show today — and any of them can beat President Barack Obama in 2012.

“It’s not a two-man race,” Limbaugh said. “It’s a four-person race. Whoever it is of these four, not only can they win, but they’re going to be able to hold their own — and then some — against [Obama] in the debates.”

Limbaugh said the showdown in Sioux City, Iowa, was “the best debate that there has been, from all perspectives.”

“I had positive vibes throughout this debate last night,” he said. “Once it is over, I’m confident that any of the candidates  . . . can beat Obama. We’re going to beat this guy, folks. That’s what I came away with last night.

“And we are going to have a reasonably good president in the process,” Limbaugh said. “I really think that that can happen here.”
