Actress Lena Dunham responded online to accusations that she sexually abused her younger sister with a “rage spiral,” tweeting her anger that the words she wrote in her new book were twisted and saying she was “disgusted.”
In her book, “Not That Kind of Girl,” Dunham detailed various instances of her behavior at age 7, including masturbating in bed with her sister and
looking at her sister’s vagina, The Washington Post said.
Truth Revolt wrote a story about Dunham’s book, titling it,
“Lena Dunham Describes Sexually Abusing her Little Sister,” and social media comments lambasted the actress.
On Saturday, Dunham responded on Twitter, posting, “The right wing news story that I molested my little sister isn't just LOL- it's really f—ing upsetting and disgusting. And by the way, if you were a little kid and never looked at another little kid's vagina, well, congrats to you.”
The Washington Post quoted from the American Academy of Pediatrics, pointing out that the behaviors Dunham described in the book fall into normal sexual behavior for children ages 2 to 6, which include touching or masturbating genitals in public or private, trying to look at or touch others’ genitals, and trying to see naked adults.
Dunham’s sister is apparently taking the stories in good humor, according to one of the actress’ tweets.
Many harangued the actress online for what she wrote.
