The FBI are investigating whether or not the dognapping of Lady Gaga's two bulldogs was politically motivated, according to reports. The pop icon performed at the inauguration of President Joe Biden, which could be the reason why men attacked her dog walker and made off with her two dogs, sources told The Sun.
"Lady Gaga is high profile of course but she sang at President Biden’s inauguration which takes this case to another level," a source told the outlet. "The FBI wants to know exactly what motivated this incident."
The attack took place Wednesday night in Los Angeles. Gaga's friend and dog walker, Ryan Fischer, was walking three dogs when a white sedan pulled up beside him and two men jumped out. Surveillance footage made available by USA Today shows Fischer try to fight off the men, who pushed him to the ground. One suspect then shoots him with a semiautomatic handgun. The Los Angeles Police Department said they stole two of the dogs, Gustavo and Koji, but the third, Asia, managed to escape.
Gaga, who is in Italy filming a new movie, is struggling to come to terms with the incident.
"Lady Gaga is beside herself about this situation," a source told Entertainment Tonight. "Ryan is not only her dog walker, but also her friend. She is horrified that this happened."
Gaga is offering a $500,000 reward in hopes that she will be reunited with her beloved pets.
"Her dogs are her babies and she is completely devastated and sickened by this," the source continued. "She feels somewhat helpless because she is far away in Italy, but is doing everything she can and praying for Ryan, Koji, and Gustavo."
