Greta Gerwig’s coming-of-age movie “Lady Bird” has broken the record for best-reviewed movie on Rotten Tomatoes, earning a 100 percent “fresh” score after 170 critical reviews as of Monday afternoon.

The movie beat out Disney’s “Toy Story 3,” which had a perfect score with 163 reviews from critics, and several other independent movies that only had 40 to 65 critical reviews each.

"Lady Bird" has made $10 million since its release on Nov. 3 despite playing in fewer than 800 U.S. theaters, according to Entertainment Weekly.

It is the first film to be directed by Gerwig and is set in Sacramento in 2002. The film follows the title character Christine “Lady Bird” McPherson through her senior year of high school as she navigates family relationships, friendships, and romance, and figures out what her future may look like.

Entertainment Weekly reported the film was “loosely autobiographical” and reviewer Leah Greenblatt said it had “gangly bittersweet whimsy.”

"Lady Bird" is one of six movies this year to earn a perfect “fresh” score with no “rotten” ratings from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. The others were “Faces Places,” “Jane,” “The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Maki,” “Truman,” and “Bright Lights,” EW reported.

Twitter was complimentary of the film, but not Rotten Tomatoes itself.
