Ladies who shop at H&M will come out of the store a size smaller. Unfortunately, this has nothing to do with weight loss, but instead has to do with a change in the fashion brand's sizing chart.

Customers shopping at H&M can expect to go down a size in clothing so, if for example you wear a size 10 at the retailer, you will likely now fit into a size 8.

An unnamed spokesperson confirmed to Glamour that in the U.S., H&M would be updating it sizing structure for ladies’ customer starting with new summer and fall 2018 products.

"We always want to listen to our customers and their feedback," the spokesperson said. "The new sizing will be more in line with the North American sizing standard and the retail landscape of the market."

This all comes after a complaint from a customer in the U.K. went viral last year, highlighting the brand's small fit and prompting customers in the U.S. to air similar grievances, Racked reported.

"We knew from feedback that our sizing needed to be more in line with the North American consumer as well as be in line with the industry standard in the market," the spokesperson said.

H&M has long strived to align itself with a more body positive image, opting to use models who are curvier and of different ethnic backgrounds in an effort to be more relatable to the average woman, and man.

Now with a change in clothing size, it appears as if the retailer is attempting to take a more holistic approach when it comes to body image.
