Lacoste made 10 different limited-edition logos to help endangered species, including a vaquita (porpoise), kakapo (parrot), and Sumatran tiger.

A total of 1,775 shirts were made with the varied logos replacing the usual crocodile on the left breast, CNN reported.

Different numbers of each shirt were made to represent the population of each animal that was left in the wild, USA Today reported. The fewest shirts were the vaquita with 30, and the most were the Anegada ground iguana with 450.

"Together these rare reptiles, birds and mammals champion the plight of all known threatened species," the International Union for Conservation of Nature said, USA Today reported.

All of the shirts were sold after they launched at Paris Fashion Week last week, and the proceeds were donated to IUCN, USA Today reported.

There are currently 1,459 different animals listed on the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service threatened and endangered list, CNN reported.

Wildlife expert Jeff Corwin encouraged other companies to take on similar efforts.

"It's a great start and I'm hoping it's just the beginning and inspires other companies to follow suit," Corwin told CNN. "Maybe Jaguar will do something for jaguars. Ram trucks maybe will start protecting big horn sheep."

"Generating awareness is equally important to fundraising because in order to solve the problem you need to understand the challenges," he added.

The Lacoste crocodile logo has been on their shirts since 1936, and the French company has never had shirts before that featured other animals, CNN reported.
