Kit Harington Haircut a 'Game of Thrones' Spoiler? Probably Not

Kit Harington’s contract with “Game of Thrones” says he can’t have a haircut, so when he showed up at a British premiere with short locks, fans flipped out, predicting his character’s death this season.

Harington has been vocal about the clause that keeps him from cutting Jon Snow’s trademark long hair, telling Metro in December, "I don’t want the bother of it all really. If you look a certain way or you have a certain look it dominates what people think you are. So I’ll cut it off quite soon. As soon as I’m allowed."

Since the length of his hair was specified in his contract, fans are fearful that the short style may mean something happened to the Jon Snow character.

But a haircut by Harington doesn’t necessarily mean his character dies at the end of Season 5. Mashable points out it's likely just a trim after wrapping the season's filming.

And Showbiz Spy quoted Harington as saying that even with the contract, he could alter his hair “somewhat.”

“We reckon slicing off a couple of inches after the season’s wrapped filming probably comes under ‘somewhat,’” Showbiz Spy wrote. “It’s still plenty long enough to grow back to ‘Jon Snow length’ by the time filming starts for Season 6. Plus we reckon when Harington does finish filming he’s going to want to chop off more than that. Of course that doesn’t mean he won’t die at some point…”
