Kim Burrell lost her radio show over an anti-gay sermon in the same week that the Ellen DeGeneres show canceled the singer's appearance.

The gospel singer faced backlash from homophobic remarks she made during a church sermon in Texas, according to Time.

Burrell, who referred to gay people as “perverted,” lost her show “Bridging the Gap with Kim Burrell,” which could be heard on Texas Southern University’s KTSU-FM 90.9, Time reported. The show has been on the air for about five months.

A video surfaced this week that showed Burrell preaching that “the perverted homosexual spirit, and the spirit of delusion and confusion, it has deceived many men and women.”

According to ABC 13 Houston, Burrell was scheduled to sing a duet with Singer-songwriter Pharrell Williams on the talk show “Ellen” next Thursday, but DeGeneres confirmed on Tuesday that the singer would no longer be appearing on her show.

DeGeneres is openly gay and widely known as “one of show business’ most prominent lesbians,” ABC 13 noted.

Days later, Texas Southern University announced that Burrell’s show would no longer be airing.

“The Kim Burrell show is no longer airing as part of KTSU Radio programming,” TSU said in a statement, per ABC 13.

Burrell hasn’t backed down from her remarks, but offered her sentiments on Facebook Live on Friday, saying she’s never discriminated against the LGBT community.

“I love you and God loves you, but God hates the sin,” she said.

Pharrell sat down with DeGeneres to discuss the matter.

“There’s no space, there’s no room for any kind of prejudice in 2017 and moving on…We all have to get used to everyone’s differences and understand that this is a big, gigantic, beautiful, colorful world, and it only works with inclusion and empathy. It only works that way,” Williams said, rebuking Burrell’s controversial remarks on Ellen’s show, according to Raw Story.

“I’m telling you, the world is a beautiful place but it does not work without empathy and inclusion. God is love. This Universe is love and that’s the only way it will function. And I get it that sometimes some of the divisive stuff works,” Williams added. “We learned that lesson last year that divisiveness works. But you have to choose what side you’re on. I’m choosing empathy; I’m choosing inclusion; I’m choosing love for everybody just trying to lift everyone. Even when I disagree with someone, I’m wishing them the best and hoping for the best because we can’t win the other way.”
