"Killing Kennedy" is close to hitting the airwaves, and National Geographic gave fans a first look this week at actress Michelle Trachtenberg in character as Lee Harvey Oswald's wife Marina. The upcoming TV movie is an adaptation of Bill O'Reilly's 2012 book, "Killing Kennedy."
Fans online gushed about the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" alumna in the new promotional photos, which show her in full 1960s hair and makeup. Trachtenberg, 27, will be joined by Rob Lowe as President John F. Kennedy, Ginnifer Goodwin as Jackie Kennedy, and Will Rothhaar as Lee Harvey Oswald.
"I am so excited for the challenge to portray Marina Oswald, and to do my first role speaking only in Russian," Trachtenberg previously told reporters. "I'm the only actor playing someone who is still alive, so I want to stay as true to her as possible.

After her husband's death, the Russian-born Marina Oswald remarried and became a U.S. citizen in 1989. She has reportedly said she
does not believe her first husband killed JFK, according to Yahoo! TV.
Based on the book of the same name, "Killing Kennedy" tells the stories of the final years of JFK and Oswald, the man accused of assassinating the president. He was assassinated himself before he could be tried for the crime.
"We are thrilled to be working with Rob Lowe, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Michelle Trachtenberg, three gifted artists whom have responded to this timely, authentic, and entertaining material," Howard T. Owens, president of the National Geographic Channels, said in a statement. "With 'Killing Kennedy,' timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the assassination of JFK, National Geographic Channel continues to bring daring, culturally significant television events to our growing global audience."
"Killing Kennedy" is scheduled to premiere in November 2013.
