Kid Rock will make WWE history next month when he’s officially inducted into the wrestling corporation’s hall of fame celebrity wing.

The rocker will take his place in the hallowed hall as a member of the Class of 2018 on Friday, April 6, in New Orleans during WrestleMania 34 Week, Fox News reported.

The news left some wondering about Kid Rock’s association with the wrestling world, but WWE said the ‘Cowboy’ singer has been a big behind-the-scenes contributor with his music.

Several of his songs have been used as official themes for WWE pay-per-view events and his music has also been featured as entrance music for wrestling pros, including the Undertaker and Stacy Keibler.

For that reason, WWE said it decided Kid Rock had earned a spot in the celebrity wing of the Hall of Fame.

“Every time I go to a WWE event I always have a good time; there is nothing like it and no better fans in the world," Kid Rock told Billboard.

“The Hall of Fame ceremony will be a fun night and it will be great to see everyone again. I have so much respect for what those guys and girls do. I’m grateful to WWE for letting me be a part of WrestleMania weekend.”

In addition to planting his roots firmly in the musical and wrestling worlds, Kid Rock also briefly teased the country with a possible 2018 senate run last year. It all began with a tweet.

The singer and songwriter posted an image of a sign that read “Kid Rock for U.S. Senate” with the caption: "I have had a ton of emails and texts asking me if this website is real… http://kidrockforsenate.com The answer is an absolute YES.”

Since last February, there had been a push for Kid Rock to challenge longtime Democrat incumbent Debbie Stabenow in Michigan. It was thought by some Republicans that he could take advantage of a GOP surge in the state, which voted Trump in the 2016 presidential election.

However, months later Kid Rock dismissed the whole thing as an elaborate publicity stunt, MassLive reported.

News of Kid Rock’s WWE Hall of Fame induction was greeted by congratulations from prominent role players in the wrestling world.

Taking to Twitter, SmackDown Superstar Mike Kanellis professed to be the biggest Kid Rock fan and said he wanted to induct the rocker into the Hall of Fame.

“Dear @wwe please let me induct @KidRock. I’m not saying I’m the biggest Kid Rock fan, but what I am saying is....I’m the biggest Kid Rock fan,” he said. WWE executive Paul Levesque also shared the news to Twitter, saying Kid Rock’s “support of our superstars, events and commitment to our troops has been unwavering.”
