Kelly McGillis, star of the 1986 movie "Top Gun," said she was attacked at her North Carolina home and authorities reportedly arrested a 38-year-old woman they found at the residence.
McGillis said she returned to her home in Henderson County on June 17 to find an unknown woman inside, said WSPA-TV
. McGillis said on her Facebook page
that the woman attacked her before she could call 911.
The woman was charged with second degree burglary, misdemeanor larceny, misdemeanor stalking, assault and battery and interfering with emergency communication.
"… Upon entering the house I notice a pair of girls pink sandals and a black larger pair," McGillis wrote about the encounter on Facebook. "I thought that maybe one of my daughters was here because one of them has a key. … I was trying to get rid of the stuff in my hand to better assess what was going on when a stranger, a woman, came barreling down the hallway and began yelling at me."
"I asked her who she is and why she was in my house and she said 'you know why you've been stalking me in Twitter.' ... At that moment I got worried that there may be someone else in the house with her. We have quite a few guns and lots of ammo and that's when I started to panic. ... I ran out the front door and called 911."
McGillis said the woman caught up to her and a fight ensued in which the woman punched and scratched her. She said she managed to get back to her truck and left. She was able to flag down a motorist who called 911.
said the woman was being held at the Henderson County Jail on $60,000 bond.
