Katy Perry will perform the halftime show at Super Bowl XLIX in Glendale, Arizona, multiple sources reported this week.

Perry, with hits such as "Dark Horse" and "Roar," reportedly beat out Coldplay and Rihanna for the spot, which has often led to sizable bumps in artist sales after performing at the one of the world's largest sporting events, according to ESPN.

The New York Post's Page Six pointed out the Perry already had a relationship with the halftime's show's sponsor, Pepsi, which worked with the pop star to promote her film "Part of Me."

During an appearance on ESPN's "College GameDay" over the weekend, Perry threw cold water on the idea floated by the NFL that the league would charge entertainers to perform at the Super Bowl because they benefited so much from the event, according to The Wrap.

The Wall Street Journal reported in August that the NFL had approached Perry, Coldplay, and Rihanna about the halftime gig in exchange for a percentage of their future tour earnings or "some type of financial contribution."

"I'm not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl," Perry said Saturday on "College Game Day," according to The Wrap.

Joanne Hunter, the NFL's director of corporate communications, told The Wrap that its contract arrangements with entertainers are confidential.

"Our only goal with the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show is to put on the best show for the millions of fans who watch," she said.

Perry's latest album "Prism" produced the No. 1 singles "Roar" and "Dark Horse," according to Billboard. The album reached the top of the chart in the United States and United Kingdom and she will be on tour in England, North America, Australia, and Europe through 2015.
