Kangaroo Pharmacy Stop: Injured Marsupial Knew Where To Go? (Video)

An injured kangaroo that found its way to a pharmacy inside Australia's Melbourne Airport Wednesday is now resting at a nearby wildlife shelter.

The kangaroo, named Cyrus, was reportedly hit by a vehicle on a road outside an airport terminal Tuesday, but somehow managed to limp inside and up to the second-floor pharmacy — a fitting place for the hurt marsupial, the New York Times noted.

Wildlife Victoria, an emergency response service, dispatched two trained volunteers to capture the kangaroo. They safely tranquilized the animal and transported it to a nearby shelter, where it is resting comfortably, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

Many people on Twitter got a kick out of the story.

Just this week, Wildlife Victoria's Emergency Response Service received 1,481 calls about native animals in need of help, according to the Herald. The organization's chief executive, Karen Masson, said she expects the annual figure would be up 20 percent from last year's total.
