"Young and the Restless" star Jordi Vilasuso said his youngest daughter, Lucy Vilasuso, was admitted into a neonatal intensive care unit with a partially collapsed lung.
Vilasuso, 42, who announced the birth of his third daughter at 35 weeks with wife Kaitlin Vilasuso, 37, in December, shared the update while asking followers on Instagram for prayers.
"Ah friends.. we come to you coveting your prayers yet again," the couple wrote in a joint caption accompanying a photo of their daughter in the hospital. "I feel like all I do is ask you all for prayers or thank you for prayers. I suppose that is just the season we're in right now."
In their statement, the parents explained that last Monday they learned that Lucy had Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). According to the Mayo Clinic, the illness is an infection of the lungs and respiratory tract common in children under the age of 2. Babies under 12 months have a risk of developing severe infections
By Monday night, Lucy had been admitted to the hospital with "difficulty breathing," the statement read.
"Last night, things unexpectedly took a turn for the worse and she was moved to NICU w/ what the doctors described as a partially collapsed right lung. I am still struggling to believe this as I type," the parents wrote.
Concluding their statement, they asked fans and followers for prayers.
"Please please pray with us for miraculous healing for Lucy's precious little body,” they wrote. “We love her so much and just want her home and happy and in our arms."
The Vilasusos announced they were expecting their third baby in September 2023. The actor announced the news on social media with a photo of his wife, their elder two daughters, and a sonogram.
"Grateful for your prayers for our growing family, my friends!” he captioned his post.
