John Paul Steur died on Monday and tributes flooded in for the former child star best known for his role in “Star Trek: The Next Generation” as Klingon Alexander Rozhenko. He was 33 and the cause of death hasn’t been released.

The actor and musician later played in the band P.R.O.B.L.E.M.S., which confirmed the death on Facebook.

“It is with heavy hearts and saddened minds that we announce the passing of our dear friend and singer Jonny Jewels, AKA Jon Paul Steuer,” the band said, adding “we've lost our singer, but far, far more than that we've lost a friend. Rest in peace, Jonny...we love you.”

According to The Mirror, Steur’s acting career was firmly embedded in 1990 when he began playing Klingon Alexander – son of Worf and Ambassador K'Ehleyr in “Star Trek.”

Over the years he would make several other onscreen appearances in various TV shows before landing the role of Quentin Kelly in “Grace Under Fire,” a moment that both defined and destroyed his career.

“I wanted to forge on with acting after quitting the show, and I went out on a few interviews,” Steurs said about his eventual departure of the show, which led to him quitting acting completely, according to Newsweek.

“But even then they’d turn into question-and-answer sessions with casting agents about Grace Under Fire… I was kind of blown away by how unprofessional people inside the industry were. It really soured me. I didn’t want that kind of attention.”

According to The Huffington Post, Steurs decided to focus his creative talent on music instead, forming glam punk band Kill City Thrillers, before joining P.R.O.B.L.E.M.S.
