Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., says he agrees with President Barack Obama that the United Stares needs to out-innovate the rest of the john, mccain, obama, innovationworld and that free-trade agreements are critical, Politico reports.

“As the president said continuously – and I agree with him – innovation is the key to us being able to restore our economy, and that’s got to be exports. We’ve got to have free-trade agreements,” McCain said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week.”

“I’m glad the president is supporting the South Korea free-trade agreement,” added McCain, Obama’s rival in the 2008 presidential general election campaign. “We’ve basically abandoned Panama and Columbia. All of these countries are basically concluding free trade agreements amongst themselves while we are being left behind and that’s very harmful.”
