The job market is constantly changing, with new career options emerging all the time. Professions that did not exist 10 years ago are now among some of the fastest-growing jobs in America while other top-earning positions are becoming redundant.

MoneyWise recently analyzed data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor to determine the professions likely to add the most jobs over the next decade. Based on the report, here are 9 of the fastest-growing jobs in America:

9. Medical assistants- The role of a medical assistant is to do exactly as the title suggests- provide medical assistance in the form of patient exams, preparation of blood samples and by taking vital signs. By 2026 there will be an estimated 183,900 new jobs in this profession, which offers a pay median of $33,610 a year.

8. Hand laborers and material movers- The job of a hand laborer or material mover varies according to the wide range of industries that need them. They could pack and wrap items, load and retrieve items from storage in warehouses and trucks or collect garbage and even recyclables. By 2026 there will be an estimated 199,700 new jobs created in this profession, which offers a median of $28,260 per year.

7. General and operations managers- People working in these roles have various duties that can range from overseeing daily operations within a company to human resource projects, planning and implementing budgets and improving production. By 2026 there will be an estimated 205,200 new jobs created in this profession, which offers a median of $100,930 per year.

6. Janitors and building cleaners- Disposing of trash, cleaning floors, washing windows and walls and performing basic maintenance activities are among some of the responsibilities a janitor has. Every time you step into a clean hospital ward, school hall or office, it is thanks to the janitor, and demand is growing. By 2026 there will be an estimated 236,500 new jobs created in this profession, which offers a median of $26,110 per year.

5. Software developers for apps- A few years ago this profession did not exist and now it is one of the fastest-growing jobs in America. The opportunities seem endless. App developers can create games or design commercial and common computer apps. As the demand for apps continues to grow, so do the opportunities for developers. By 2026 there will be an estimated 255,400 new jobs created in this profession, which offers a median of $103,620 per year.

4. Home health aides- People with chronic illness and disabilities may need help with everyday activities that could range from eating, bathing and dressing to shopping, housekeeping and transportation. The job of a home health aide includes assisting with these and other basic medical tasks. By 2026 there will be an estimated 431,200 new jobs created in this profession, which offers a median of $24,200 per year.

3. Registered nurses- With the population aging, more and more registered nurses are needed. Their role is to monitor patients and provide them with basic treatment while consulting with doctors, performing diagnostic tests and working with their patients' family members. By 2026 there will be an estimated 438,100 new jobs created in this profession, which offers a median of $71,730 per year.

2. Food and beverage service workers- As the food industry in America booms, so does the need for food and beverage service workers, who work in fast-food outlets, restaurants, bars and cafeterias, bussing tables and restocking service stations among other tasks. By 2026 there will be an estimated 579,900 new jobs created in this profession, which offers a median of $21,250 per year.

1. Personal care aides- This job is similar to that of a home health aide. The difference is that personal care aides do not focus much on the medical aspect and provide assistance with daily activities including bathing and dressing, preparing meals and housekeeping. The need for personal care aides continues to grow. By 2026 there will be an estimated 777,600 new jobs created in this profession, which offers a median of $24,020 per year.
