Jennifer Garner jokingly revealed what she was thinking about when she was caught in an unexpected viral meme during the Academy Awards broadcast Sunday, according to People magazine.

The actress became the subject of the meme on Twitter where she appeared to applaud with the rest of the audience and then her hands noticeably stopped and her facial expression transitioned from stoic to bewildered, People wrote.

On Monday, Garner, 45, offered her own explanation on her Instagram Story by sharing three responses, the magazine stated.

"Congrats to 'Shape of Water!' Maybe I should date a fish?" Garner said in one of her online responses.

"Hey Jimmy Kimmel, what's in your wallet? Wait where's my wallet?" Garner added, referring to her tagline to the Capital One Venture television commercials she appears in.

Then she added, according to People: "Can't wait to work with Lena Dunham! Wait, did I sign a nudity waiver?"

"Entertainment Tonight" pointed out that Garner's social media buzz was reminiscent of Jennifer Lawrence's stair fall during 2013 after earning her best actress Oscar, John Travolta's "Adele Dazeem" mispronunciation of Idina Menzel in 2014 and Nicole Kidman clapping at last year's show.

Her explanation did not stop social media users from coming up with other humorous explanations.
