Jennifer Aniston sparked rumors of a "Friends" reunion after sharing a photo of herself with former co-stars Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow on Sunday. The image, captioned "Hi from the girls across the hall," drew nearly 8 million likes and thousands of comments.
"I could so easily freak out right now," one excited fan wrote.
"This made me a little emotional," another replied.
The photo comes weeks after reports emerged that there were talks underway to revive the hit series. Included in those talks were creators of the show as well as the six core members, Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer, a source told The Hollywood Reporter late November.
This is not the first time there has been speculation of a "Friends" reunion.
For years fans have hoped for a revival, and been disappointed each time the rumors were dismissed, but last month Aniston teased that the former costars were working on "something," according to E! News.
"Listen, we would love for there to be something, but we don't know what that something is. So, we're just trying. We're working on something," Aniston said on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
This "something" is what keeps fans hoping that their favorite show will once again return to their TVs.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the unnamed source who revealed that talks were underway, said that the deal is far from done but, if things are confirmed, the next step would be to match up everyone's schedules.
