Actress Jenna Fischer said she’s sorry for posting an inaccurate tweet about the new tax bill claiming the deduction for teachers who bought their own school supplies had been eliminated. She apparently didn’t keep up with the ever-changing versions before its passage.

Fischer posted the apology on Wednesday after some Twitter users commented on her error, the Huffington Post reported.

"I can't stop thinking about how school teachers can no longer deduct the cost of their classroom supplies on their taxes … something they shouldn't have to pay for with their own money in the first place. I mean, imagine if nurses had to go buy their own syringes #ugh," Fischer wrote in the original tweet, which has since been deleted, per HuffPost.

HuffPost reported that an earlier version of the tax bill that passed in the House of Representatives in November would have slashed the $250 deduction that reduces taxable income for teachers who purchase classroom supplies with their own money.

The Senate version tried to double the deduction to $500, but the final bill that passed on Dec. 19 left the teacher deduction as is, per HuffPost.

Fox News reported that Fischer's post brought quick criticism on social media.

The criticism led to the former "The Office" actress offering a lengthy apology Wednesday.

"In fact, what I treasure most about our democracy is the dialogue we share with each other, through conversations, social media, and the press," Fischer wrote in the apology. "But part of having a dialogue involves listening and learning and admitting when you're wrong. Tweet deleted. I'm not ashamed to say I was wrong and I’m not ashamed to correct it."
