A Change.org petition is calling on actor Jeff Bridges to run for U.S. Senate for Montana, but The Dude won’t abide.

Lizbeth Pratt of Billings, Montana, launched the petition, which had gotten more than 1,100 signatures by Tuesday afternoon. Aiming to get Montana Gov. Steve Bullock to encourage Bridges to run for Senate, Pratt wrote: “Jeff is a great person. He has loved Montana and all it represents since he first set up residence in Park County four decades ago. He has great name recognition! Charisma! Brains! He's internationally reknowned [sic], but he is also highly accessible. We need The Dude to be Montana's next U.S. Senator!”

Former Democratic candidate John Walsh ended his bid for re-election amid accusations of plagiarism.

Pratt came up with the idea of Bridges as a replacement during a jog, The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reported.

"He is the bullet-proof candidate," Pratt said of the actor, known for his roles in "The Big Lebowski" and "Crazy Heart," for which he won an Academy Award. "He's the only candidate where you could post photos of him naked, smoking pot and it wouldn't affect him."

Bridges told Howard Stern that his wife nixed the idea when he came across the petition: “She looks at me and says, ‘Don't even think about it.'”

But Pratt hasn’t stopped pushing. Bridges has till Friday to announce whether he will run, but it doesn't sound like that will happen.

Bridges currently is promoting his new movie “The Giver,” and touring with his band, The Abiders.
