"Game of Thrones" actor Jason Momoa will reportedly play Aquaman in the upcoming "Batman v Superman" film, multiple sources say.

Hitfix.com said Momoa will appear as Aquaman in the anticipated 2016 movie, although he won't play a major role this time.

That could come later with a future Justice League movie, and MoviePilot.com said there will definitely be a standalone Aquaman film.

Momoa, who has recently denied Aquaman rumors, is known for his roles on "Game of Thrones," where he played Khal Drogo, as well as his Ronon Dex role on "Stargate Atlantis." He also wrote, directed, produced, and starred in this year's "Road to Paloma."

Earlier rumors had pegged Matt Damon as the choice for the King of Atlantis.

Though Aquaman famously has blond hair, Momoa does not, which could be a point of contention for fans who aren't sure how a dye job will look.

Reactions to the supposed casting were mixed on Twitter.
