Jaden Smith Explains Why He Wore a Batman Costume to Kim K's Wedding

Jaden Smith has finally explained why he chose to wear a white Batman costume to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's May 2014 wedding.

“I felt as though I needed to protect everyone there and needed to have the proper gear to do so,” Will Smith’s son told GQ Magazine.

The 16-year old did not specify what he needed to “protect” everybody from.

"I'm just expressing how I feel inside, which is really no particular way because everyday it changes how I fell about the world and myself," he told GQ.

Clyde Haygood posted a picture from the wedding photobooth on Instagram:

Smith also busted out his white Batman suit for his high school prom.

“I wore the Batman suit to heighten my experience at the wedding and prom which was fun,” he told GQ. The "Karate Kid" celebrity admits that his “style icons are Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Superman, and Kanye West.”

Smith’s 2015 prom photo got more than 3,761 likes on Instagram.

The Batman suit is not Smith’s only unusual fashion item. To another 2015 high school prom, Smith again deviated from the traditional black tux and wore a dress, reported New York Daily News. Amanda Stenberg escorted him to the dance and the "Hunger Games" star later posted their prom picture on Instagram.

“My dad went on national television with a crop top on showing his belly button and to this day he regrets it, so I show him pictures of it and he thinks it’s literally hilarious. That’s my favorite "Fresh Prince" outfit by far,” Smith said when GQ asked how his father has impacted his unique fashion sense.

Smith has also been known to sport leopard pants, skirts, and dresses on normal days at school. In April he tweeted that wearing a dress to school one day may have been too much.

“You can get fined for swerving too hard so it’s tough. People may come up to you and say, ‘Can you not swerve so hard? I can’t concentrate over here.’ That’s a way to know you’ve swerved too hard, but there are many others,” he told GQ of "swerving" away from fashion norms.
