A "Hocus Pocus" sequel has been delayed because Disney "having trouble finding a virgin," according to Bette Midler, star of the 1993 cult classic.

The film co-starred Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker, whom Midler added to her joking Twitter post.

Talk has swirled for years about a potential sequel, but there no plans for one as of now.

Samantha Leal, of Marie Claire, said she enjoyed Midler's prank, but would enjoy an actual sequel announcement even more.

"For anyone (AKA everyone) waiting for a sequel to 'Hocus Pocus,' possibly the greatest Halloween movie ever made, we may still have a lot more waiting to do," she wrote. "Bette Midler took to Twitter on Monday to address our thirst for an 'HP2.' The results? Hilarious."

Tina Fey denied rumors in 2014 that she was producing a sequel to the movie, but Midler has expressed her own interest in the project.

"Inundate the Disney company, because I have canvassed the girls and they are willing to do it, but we have no say in it, so if you want a 'Hocus Pocus 2,' ask the Walt Disney company," Midler wrote in a Reddit AMA last year.

Midler found plenty of supporters for a "Hocus Pocus" sequel online.
