Hillary Clinton's attack on the NRA on social media, while the aftermath of the Las Vegas concert massacre was still unfolding, was slammed by critics who called it "ignorant, irrelevant and exploitative," Fox News reported.

On Monday morning, while causalities from the shooting during a country music concert late Sunday were being counted, Clinton launched criticism against the National Rifle Association over the issue of gun silencers.

At least 59 people died and 527 others were injured in what is being called the largest mass shooting in modern U.S. history after Stephen Paddock shot into a crowd of 22,000 attending the Route 91 Harvest festival near Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino while country star Jason Aldean performed, CNN reported.

Clinton's comments were frowned on by White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders.

"I think before we start trying to talk about the preventions of what took place last night, we need to know more facts, and right now we’re simply not at that point," Sanders said, per Fox News. "It is very easy for Mrs. Clinton to criticize and to come out, but I think we need to remember the only person with blood on their hands is that of the shooter, and this isn't a time for us to go after individuals or organizations. I think we can have those policy conversations but today is not that day."

Clinton's criticism on the NRA's position on silencers drew of the ire of conservatives.

Ben Shapiro, a conservative commentator and editor-in-chief of The Daily Wire, blasted Clinton for her statement overall. Others chimed in speaking out against Clinton's criticism.
