Helen Mirren, the 70-year-old Academy Award-winning actress, has sworn off any more nude movie scenes and said her "legendary boobs" were now reserved for hubby Taylor Hackford.
"That's the good thing about getting older, you don't have to do that sort of thing anymore," Mirren told CBS's "Remember That Time" host Alan Cumming. "My pleasure pillows are purely for my husband."
Mirren said that while she has done nude scenes since the 1970s, it was something she never looked forward to, said
Us Weekly.
"I didn't know my boobs were legendary," said Mirren. "There are much more legendary boobs than mine. … I never wanted to do that. But you know, I thought, 'Does it really matter? It's not a thing to get your knickers in a twist over. I was doing nude scenes from the first moment I started doing movies. It was the era."
Mirren said the times have changed involving nudity and sex, said
Entertainment Weekly, and she compared her role in the 1979 movie "Caligula" and HBO's "Game of Thrones."
"When I did 'Caligula,' it was like, 'Awww, shock, horror, triple-X, only in porn cinemas,'" said Mirren. "Now, 'Game of Thrones,', 8 o'clock at night, there it is… exactly what we did in 'Caligula.' Everything’s a sex scene. Everything!"
Mirren, known for being an outspoken critic of reported Hollywood beauty standards, recently complained that young men – as well as woman – are under pressure to have "ridiculous" bodies, according to the
Daily Mail on Sunday.
"It's absolutely incredible," said Mirren. "They all have to have these ridiculous bodies now that are completely unrealistic. And it's very hard to find a male actor with a real body. They all have to be in the gym for three or four hours a day. Tedious. Awful."
The British actress pointed to one of Great Britain's most iconic characters, James Bond, as how the uneven the gender roles play out.
"We all watched James Bond as he got more and more geriatric, and his girlfriends got younger and younger," said Mirren. "It's so annoying. … I think what's galling to me is when you see someone who's supposed to be a high-level surgeon in a film and she's being played by a 28-year-old actress. They wouldn't even be qualified yet, never mind eminent."
