New “American Idol” judge Harry Connick Jr. enjoys his job so much he had to tweet the news to Mariah Carey, who “hated” the gig.

His comment was in response to an
interview Carey did Tuesday with HOT 97’s Angie Martinez about her miserable season on the show.
“Honestly, I hated it,” Carey said.
“It was like going to work everyday in hell with Satan.”
Carey had not responded to his first tweet when Connick tweeted again: “btw, i LOVE @mariahcarey !!! no hate for that sweet lady - i just feel bad that she didn't have what we have - the best @americanidol ever!”
Carey did not identify if any of her co-judges might be devils in disguise but her tension with Nicki Minaj is well known and was caught on tape. A screaming match during auditions was leaked online.
There were also reports that “Idol” producers allegedly tried to replace her midseason with Jennifer Lopez.
Carey said she “thought it was going to be a three-person panel.” Instead there were four judges as she and Minaj worked alongside Randy Jackson and Keith Urban.
The musical competition wasn’t all bad, Carey told Martinez.
"You know what I loved? I loved the contestants," she told Martinez.
Fox executives brought back Lopez, after a season of being off, and hired Connick to replace Carey and Minaj. Urban will be the only judge to return from last season.
