When a family created a too-real Halloween display of a zombie car crash complete with fake blood and a fake zombie body, neighbors called police to complain.

Krysten and Kevin Negretto, who recently moved to Waretown, New Jersey, created the display on their front lawn, complete with a backstory posted on the tree where the body was pinned, NJ.com reported.

“We mean no harm by it,” Krysten Negretto told NJ.com. “We don’t mean to offend anyone. We do it for the love of Halloween. We just want kids to enjoy like we did as kids.”

The police showed up to tell the Negrettos of the complaints, but the cops they were required to respond and actually encouraged the family to add more to the display, NJ.com reported.

Kevin Negretto was doing mechanical work on the Toyota Supra used in the scene and decided to spray it with fake blood and pull off the bumper to make it look more realistic, Inside Edition reported.

“It’s Halloween. It’s a zombie. We did it for fun,” Krysten Negretto added.

The scene is surrounded by caution tape, and another body is on the ground nearby. The body pinned between car and tree is “Zombie Bob,” and the one on the ground is “Zombie Cindy,” the Negrettos said.

Krysten Negretto said more people seem to love the display than hate it.

“We are sorry if you are offended by it, but it’s for Halloween and there is only about a week and a half left,” she said, Inside Edition reported.
