A gun control group backed by former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg has targeted Kroger in what is says is its first campaign against a corporate gun policy.
According to Forbes, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America's campaign steps up the groups past petition and social media pressure to get Kroger to prohibit the open carry of guns in its grocery stores. Kroger typically defers to state and local laws when it comes to guns in its stores.

Backed with a six-figure sum of money, print, and digital ads featuring the group's "Guess Which One" campaign will run in USA Today, the Cincinnati Enquirer, Columbus Dispatch, Detroit Free Press, Detroit News, and Houston Chronicle. The ads feature two people standing in a grocery store, one with a firearm, and the other with a skateboard, ice cream cone, or bare chest. The ads attempt to call into question why guns aren't banned but the other items are.
Keith Dailey
told BuzzFeed that its "policy is in practice identical to most other U.S. retailers" and also released an official statement regarding the campaign.
"Millions of customers are present in our busy grocery stores every day and we don’t want to put our associates in a position of having to confront a customer who is legally carrying a gun," the statement read in-part.
"That is why our long-standing policy on this issue is to follow state and local laws and to ask customers to be respectful of others while shopping. We know that our customers are passionate on both sides of this issue and we trust them to be responsible in our stores."
