A Greensboro, North Carolina, woman who was left on the doorstep of a church daycare as a baby nearly three decades ago has tracked down her biological parents after years of searching.

The story begins 27 years ago, when Pam Tonkins discovered the abandoned baby, Precious Bradley.

"I'm like what is that? Is that an animal or did somebody leave a cat or what?," Tonkins told WFMY.

Bradley was adopted and went on to live a successful life, but she always wondered about her biological parents.

It was one of the reasons she chose to further her studies at NC A&T, so that she could search for her them in Greensboro.

Bradley previously told WFMY that she shared a close bond with her adoptive parents but she just needed to know who her family was.

In 2014, Bradley launched a social media campaign in hopes of obtaining information about her birth parents, Fox 8 noted.

She started by posting a photo that read; "Hi! My name is Precious J. Bradley. I was abandoned at 719 Dillard St., Greensboro, NC on January 19, 1991 when I was about two weeks old. I am searching for my biological family. Please like and share. Spread the word. Any info is better than no info. Support me by tweeting #FindingPrecious."

Her efforts have since grown and, through the help of the community, she was eventually able go for DNA tests and see a genealogist, all thanks to public donations, WFMY noted.

Earlier this year she got a hit on ancestry.com, which led her to her birth father and enabled her to locate her birth mother, both who live in North Carolina.

Bradley said she harbors no ill feelings toward her parents for leaving her on the doorstep of a church daycare all those years ago.

"I definitely think this was a cry for help," she told WFMY, adding that her biological mother felt it was the best option she had.

"At the end of the day, I'm perfectly fine with that option because I'm able to live because of her," Bradley said.

Bradley has slowly been getting to know her birth parents but as she explained, it was not something "you just go out there and do."
