The all-female cast for a new "Ghostbusters" film is taking shape, with Melissa McCarthy signing on and Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon in negotiations,
according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Paul Feig is directing the film, which is expected to begin shooting in New York in the summer.
A tweet by Feig on Tuesday appeared to allude to the casting.
Wiig and McCarthy starred in Feig’s comedy "Bridesmaids," and Jones and McKinnon are currently part of the cast of "Saturday Night Live." Wiig left "SNL" in 2012.
The third "Ghostbusters" installment has long been in the works, planned early on to include the original team of Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, and Harold Ramis, but the project stalled and Ramis died last year. Feig came on board in August and confirmed in October that he was teaming up with Katie Dippold to write a script for an all-female cast.
