If you are a superstitious person fear not, even celebrities have some unusual quirks, and we have dug up eight ways that the stars align themselves with Friday the 13th.

It turns out that coping with superstitions could be the best way to ensure you have enough luck in the bank to make it through Friday the 13th unscathed.

Here are ways eight celebrities cope with superstitions.

Stephen King

You might think the critically acclaimed horror author would be used to eerie things, but it turns out that Stephen King is a self-confessed "triskaidekaphobe," a person who fears the number 13.

He even wrote about his irrational fear in an essay that appeared in The New York Times in 1984.

When it comes to the three-on-a-match superstition warning against lighting three cigarettes on a single match, King said he would shake out a match or cap his lighter after the first two lights of a cigarette before lighting up the third.

"I always take the last two steps on my back stairs as one, making 13 into 12," he wrote.

"When I am reading, I will not stop on page 94, page 193, page 382, et al. - the digits of these numbers add up to 13."

Jennifer Aniston

Traveling across the globe is part of being a top Hollywood actor, and when you are clocking as much time on a plane as Jennifer Aniston, it helps to have a pre-flight ritual.

"If I walk onto an airplane, I always have to go on with my right foot first and tap the outside of the plane," she said, according to Hello magazine.

"I have always done it. For luck."

Kourtney Kardashian

It seems pre-flight traditions are quite popular among celebrities.

According to Hello, Kourtney Kardashian has admitted "when I go on an airplane, it's right foot first and then I kiss two fingers and touch the plane. When I take off, I cross two fingers on my right hand and put both my thumbs up."

Heidi Klum

It is common practice to carry a lucky charm, but supermodel mom Heidi Klum leans toward the bizarre by carrying her baby teeth around with her.

"Those are my lucky teeth," she admitted, per Life and Style.

"It's just a crazy thing that I do."

Ariana Grande

If any celebrity has a superstition worth adopting, Ariana Grande’s would be it.

Teen Vogue noted that, before big auditions, the "Break Free" singer used to scarf chocolate donuts for good luck.

Victoria Beckham

It turns out that Posh Spice is quite the superstitious celebrity, avoiding ladders, saluting magpies and regularly checking in to the same hotel in New York, Wonderwall reported.

"If I told you my backstage rituals and was honest, you would think I was a little weird," she said, per the celebrity news site.

"I carry my crystals with me, which some people might think as odd but it works for us."

Colin Farrell

If you ever found yourself in the movie business it might pay to heed Irish superstar Colin Farrell’s traditions.

On the first day of shooting a new movie, he always wears the same boxer shorts, a gift from his brother that are covered in shamrocks, Wonderwall noted.

Missy Elliot

She may come across as a tough not-to-be-messed-with woman but Missy Elliott has an Achilles heel: black cats.

"If a black cat walks in my path I will immediately turn around and go home, even if I am on my way somewhere," she said, according to Life and style.
