President Donald Trump appeared to ignore Fox News chief White House correspondent John Roberts after taking questions outside the White House on Friday, and seemed to glare at the reporter as he walked away.
Jonathan Karl, ABC News chief White House correspondent, tweeted a clip of Trump answering a question before walking away from reporters.
“Upset with Fox? Just now on the South Lawn, the President took questions from several reporters, but ignored [Roberts] avoiding eye contact with him until he started walking away and glared at him.”
Roberts later tweeted in response to this: “it was a rather chilly March morning…”
He later told Fox News’ Jon Scott that Trump “glared at me like I’ve never seen him glare at me before.
Roberts said that Trump may be upset with the news network after “Mornings with Maria” host Maria Bartiromo grilled him about his recent attacks on the late Sen. John McCain during an interview Friday morning.
“President not happy with us this morning either,” Roberts said, according to Mediaite.
“You shouldn’t have brought it up,” Trump told Bartiromo during their interview early Friday morning. “Actually, I thought you weren’t supposed to bring it up, but that’s okay, Fake news every once in a while.”
