A Florida sanctuary kangaroo that escaped from his home Monday night, has officials scouring the neighborhood as sightings of the marsupial stream in.
Storm lives with six other kangaroos in a sanctuary in Jupiter-Farms, and is known to never leave the side of his kangaroo friend, Avalanche, which is why his escape has left neighbors and officials baffled, My Palm Beach Post reported.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the 5-year-old kangaroo was still missing, but several residents spotted him hopping along a suburban street.
Video footage of Storm's escapades posted to Facebook by Denise Cooper has drawn thousands of views, shares and comments.
"Taking josh to bus and see this...only in Jupiter farms do kangaroos hop down your street," she captioned the video.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission overseeing the search said it is unclear how or why the kangaroo escaped.
When they find him, they will subdue him with a tranquilizer dart before returning him to the sanctuary.
Kangaroos are known to occasionally wander the U.S. suburbs after making their great escapes.
In 2017, the entire Kenosha County Sheriff's office worked together to capture a kangaroo that escaped from a petting zoo in Wisconsin, according to Chicago’s CBS2.
