Five-Legged Lamb Born in Wales Is 'Happy,' 'Doing Really Well' (Video)

A five-legged lamb was born at Rhiwlas Farm near Lake Vyrnwy, Powys, in Wales on Thursday.

Farmer Bethan Davies said the lamb, named Jake, is healthy and thriving, the BBC reported.

"He seems really happy, he's feeding well and bouncing around like a normal lamb. He is doing really well," she said.

The rare sight is documented in YouTube video that shows the lamb appearing to control all five of his limbs.

The family won’t risk surgery to remove the leg and plans to keep Jake as a pet.

“We called the vet and he said that provided it wasn’t in pain, we should let him get on with it,” Peter Davies told the Daily Post.

It’s not unheard of for animals to be born with extra limbs. A lamb born with an extra front leg in 2013 in Morpeth went on to give birth to two normal lambs after her extra limb was removed.

Last year, a lamb was born with seven legs in Mongolia.

Twitter users commented about the oddity.
