First Lady 'Too Young for 51,' Little Girl Tells Michelle Obama

The first lady got a flattering "you're too young for 51" comment from a little girl during a White House event for "Take Your Child to Work Day" on Wednesday, which earned the child a warm hug and a few moments of fame.

As The Washington Post reported, young Anaya Brodie was bold when she asked Michelle Obama, "How old are you?"

"I'm 51," Obama told the crowd gathered in the East Room.

"You look too young for a 51-year old!" Brodie shouted back with a smile.

"What? What does that mean? What's that look?" Obama asked, pretending she didn't hear the girl. "Say that again? Give her the mic. What was that, babe? I didn't hear you."

"You look too young for a 51-year old!" Brodie repeated loud and clear into the microphone.

The first lady was delighted by the compliment, and insisted Brodie come up to the stage for a hug.

"Take Your Child to Work Day" brought a number of employees and kids from the Boys and Girls Club and D.C. Child Family Services to the hallowed halls of the White House to emphasize the importance of hard work — and, perhaps, a little flattery.
