'Fifty Shades Darker' Teaser Is First Look at Steamy Sequel (Video)

A teaser for “Fifty Shades Darker,” due out in 2017, was posted on YouTube Thursday, apparently taken from the DVD of “Fifty Shades of Grey” that goes on sale Friday.

The very short video of Christian Grey, played by Jamie Dornan, puts on a mask, with the sound of heavy breathing in the background. It was enough to incite viewers, who posted on YouTube:

“oh my falls off my bed hot swoon”
“2017?! Why God, Whyyy? -_- xp”

And from a fan with the screen name FiftyShadesFever came this: “SQUEAL! LOVE IT! While I'm just as anxious as the next fan (Does my username give it away? Lol) I'm not going to stress over the two year wait. People need to chill. It's perfectly reasonable. Jamie & Dakota have other commitments. Dana Brunetti tweeted a link to an article on Variety.com that reported production is expected to begin between Jan-Mar of next year. Look at all the other movies that had a sequel or more, the wait between is two years or more. AT LEAST WE KNOW IT'S COMING!!!! And with FREED being released a year after that, I'm betting they'll be filming both at the same time.”

The first of the three movies, “Fifty Shades of Grey” had a $40 million budget and topped $100 million on its opening weekend in February. In the first six weeks, the movie grossed just over $550 million worldwide.

"Fifty Shades Darker" is expected to fall more in the thriller category of films, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Universal Pictures chair Donna Langley spoke at a THR breakfast event about rumors that ther were tensions during the first movie between Universal Pictures, author E.L. James, and director Sam Taylor-Johnson (he’s not coming back to make the last two movies).

“For the record, the movie we ended up making is exactly the movie I wanted to make and that the studio wanted to make and that our director wanted to make,” she told THR. Langley also talked about hiring James’ husband, Niall Leonard, to write the script, saying, “He actually did a draft that wasn't credited on the first movie, and he did a really good job."
