Father Beats Teacher With Baseball Bat for Texting Teen Daughter

By    |   Monday, 09 Jun 2014 10:29 AM

A Maryland father who beat a local teacher with a baseball bat last week after learning the 42-year-old educator had been texting the man's 15-year-old daughter will not be charged with assault.

It all started on Thursday, when the girl's mother uncovered several dozen texts between the 15-year-old and her instructor at Perry Hall High School.

According to the Baltimore Sun, the girl's parents then called police, but officers ultimately chose not to pursue the case because the messages "described an emotional relationship that seemed inappropriate for a teacher and student," but no evidence of a crime.

Later that day, the texting teacher reportedly showed up at the family's home "saying he wanted to talk," the Sun reported. The father asked him to leave and, when the instructor wouldn't, the dad hit him with a baseball bat.

The baseball bat-wielding father will not be in any legal trouble because the teacher reportedly chose not to file charges. Police have not released the names of any of the parties involved.
