Last year, Bugatti unveiled the La Voiture Noire which is the most expensive car around (for the price tag, keep reading). Cars of this type are out of reach for most of us but still fun to imagine the possibility of owning and driving. Based on a report by Motor1 here are the seven most expensive cars of all time.
7. Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita
Just three of the CCXR Trevita were built before being discontinued. The vehicle boasts a twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V8 with 1,004 horsepower and 797 pound-feet of torque. Is it enough to justify its staggering $4.8 Million price tag? Some car fanatics will say yes.
The $5.4 million Pagani Huayra Imola is the most powerful Pagani of all time, with its 827 horsepower (617 kilowatts) and 811 pound-feet of torque (1,100 Newton-meters) from the AMG-derived twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12. Only five are expected to be produced.
Bugatti is making 40 of the Divo, which shares many features as the cheaper Chiron, but there are aspects that explain its $5.8 million price. For starters, the vehicle is 77 pounds lighter than its sibling and boasts 1,500 ponies (1,119 kilowatts) and an aerodynamic setup.
4. Mercedes-Maybach Exelero
Built in 2004, this one-off $8 million vehicle can reach a top speed of 218 miles per hour and features twin-turbo V12 engine producing 690 horsepower. Due to inflation, the vehicle would sell today for $10 million.
The super rare, super expensive Centodieci debuted last year and just 10 models are being produced. The vehicle was built in celebration of Bugatti’s 110-year anniversary.
The Rolls-Royce Sweptail was listed as the world's most expensive car in 2017 and, although Rolls-Royce did not confirm the number, its price was estimated to be $12.8 million.
1. Bugatti La Voiture Noire
The selling price of this Bugatti is $18.7, making it the most expensive new car. Why? Expect a quad-turbo 8.0-liter engine that produces 1,479 horsepower of torque.
