There was a leak at Elysée Palace when French President Emmanuel Macron’s dog was filmed urinating against a fireplace during an official meeting at the presidential palace.

According to ABC News, the black Labrador-Griffon cross named Nemo, which was adopted from an animal shelter, decided to interrupt his master’s meeting with government officials by raising a leg.

Upon noting what was happening, Macron burst into laughter.

"The dog is in the middle of doing something quite exceptional," he told Brune Poirson, Benjamin Griveaux and Julien Denormandie, the junior ministers for ecology, the economy and local government, according to The Daily Mail.

"I was wondering what that noise was," Poirson said, to which Macron replied, "You've made my dog behave in a very unusual manner."

It seems as if French presidential dogs are known for misbehaving.

The Huffington Post noted that Former president Nicolas Sarkozy’s dogs cost the palace thousands of euros after they destroyed some of the palace’s furniture.

Then there is the incident in which former President Jacques Chirac’s poodle, Sumo, became so depressed after leaving the presidential palace that be had to undergo treatment for mental health problems and be put on anti-depressants, The Guardian reported.

This came after the dog bit his owner.

Jacques Chirac’s wife, Bernadette Chirac, said at the time that Sumo "couldn't bare the departure from the Elysée" and had been "down in the dumps."

The dog is now much happier roaming free on a farm in the countryside.

However, Nemo is not in the same league and his urinating incident is said to be out of character.

The Huffington Post noted that the dog has maintained good behavior, standing to attention when his master met the Niger President Mahamadou Issoufou, and also being at his best when greeting Idriss Deby, the president of Chad.
