Emma Roberts Line-Cutting: Cronut Craving Gets Actress Busted

Movie starlet Emma Roberts was busted Thursday for cutting the line at New York City’s famed Dominique Ansel Bakery to nab a coveted cronut.

Roberts, 22, the niece of Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts, showed "diva tendencies” when she arrived at Dominique Ansel and surveyed the long line, according to the Daily Mail.

Dominique Ansel invented cronuts, which is a cross between a croissant and donut, and the bakery has been slammed with customers, some of who camp out overnight outside the bakery, ever since their foodie creation came out in May.

Instead of waiting on the line that wrapped around the block like everyone else, Roberts and her publicist attempted to skip to the front. The bakery’s doorman turned them away, however.

The pair then went to the back of the line, which New York magazine described a three-hour wait. The two gave up shortly afterward.

Roberts appeared that night on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" and Fallon made her dream come true, supplying her with the hybrid confection.

Roberts told Fallon she walked to the bakery’s door because she did not realize there was a long line of people. She said she stood in line until the bakery ran out of cronuts.

But Roberts could have scored a whole box of cronuts if she had got on the waiting list.

Roberts was making the media rounds to promote her latest movie "We're the Millers," which hit the theaters this past weekend. She also appeared on "Live with Kelly and Michael" before the ill-fated cronut run.

Roberts plays Cathy Mathis in "We're the Millers," the story about a longtime pot dealer who creates a fake family to move a huge shipment of marijuana from Mexico to the U.S.

The movie, starring Jason Sudeikis and Jennifer Aniston, finished second in the box office this weekend, taking in $26.6 million.
