Elon Musk promised to fix a Heroic Tesla owner’s vehicle after the man used his Tesla Model S to stop a car that had lost control on a highway in Germany.

The owner of the Model S, Manfred Kick, became aware that the driver of a Volkswagen was unconscious while behind the wheel, which prompted Kick to come to the driver’s rescue, according to CNet’s Road Show.

The car with the unconscious driver was reportedly swerving on the highway and bumping up against the guardrail, the New York Post noted.

That’s when Kick called the fire department to the scene and used his Tesla to slow the VW down by pulling in front of it and tapping on the break, causing the Volkswagen to hit his bumper and eventually come to a complete stop.

“I had to stop his car somehow, otherwise it would have continued forever. And it was clear that the driver needed urgent help,” Kick said, according to the New York Post.

Kick’s Tesla suffered some rear-end damage to its bumper, but he won’t have to stress over the damages, according to Musk who took to Twitter on Wednesday to offer his appreciation to Kick, and he didn’t stop there.

The Tesla CEO rewarded Kick by promising to repair his Tesla for free.

According to the New York Post, the driver of the VW is in the hospital currently in stable condition.

Between both cars, the damages reportedly are estimated at around $10,000.
