"Saved by the Bell" star Dustin Diamond is reportedly "suffering" as he undergoes treatment for cancer. Last week it emerged that the actor had been diagnosed with stage four cancer and now sources have revealed that the cancer is small-cell carcinoma, according to Fox News, and Diamond is having a tough time emotionally and physically.
"It's not good, it's not good at all," an insider cited by Daily Mail said. "He's going to be in the hospital for a while. He's getting through his treatments now. It's tough, it's very hard."
Diamond is reportedly "going through a lot of pain" while receiving treatment but is doing his best to keep his spirits up, the source added. "Right now, he's just suffering. He has his ups and downs where he's great one minute, but then he can be in a lot of pain — tears. It's such an emotional time."
Diamond was hospitalized earlier this month, after complaining of widespread pain throughout his body. He was also suffering from shingles and had discovered a lump in his throat, which led to the cancer diagnosis.
Last week a representative revealed to Entertainment Weekly that Diamond had been diagnosed with cancer, which was "serious," and that he was undergoing testing and treatment at a Florida hospital.
"He's undergoing chemo so he will be there at least another week and then we will figure out when he gets to come home," Diamond's rep said. "By next week, we'll have a much better understanding of the severity of his condition and what treatments he will need so that he's comfortable."
