Dr. Oz has a perfect remedy for overeating this holiday season – a "3-day fat flush" –  and true to its name it involves some regular daily flushing of one's toilet. Did we mention it's free?

The daytime TV doc introduced the 3-day flush on his syndicated show on Monday with the fat flush's creator, New York Times best-selling author Dr. Mark Hyman.

Hyman's 3-day fat-flush concentrates on what you eat instead of how much you eat, according to Oz's website. Hyman leads the Center for Functional Medicine in Lenox, Massachusetts, which incorporates nutrition and medicine into a patient's recovery, according to the Deseret Digital Media. He also consults with top medical institutions like the Cleveland Clinic.

According to Oz's website, the first step is getting the right "fat flushing" foods that have plenty of protein, fiber and omegas. Also, a "fat flush broth" helps change the user's blood chemistry, packing it with phytochemicals and flushing out fat-causing toxins in the body.

The second step, according to the website, includes a dose of omega-3 fatty acids in the morning with two of three handfuls of almonds, walnuts, pecans macadamia nuts or pumpkin seeds. The website said the nuts will allow the user to flush out fat while staying full at the same time.

The third step in the flush is the have a daily bowl movement. The website noted if the user hasn't had one by 10 a.m., he or she should take a tablespoon of virgin coconut oil and stir it into an eight-ounce glass of water and drink it, which should induce a bowel movement within two to three hours. The website suggest that the program users should be drinking six to eight glasses of water per day to flush out fat-building toxins.

The fourth step is to eat a protein and fiber filled lunch and dinner. The website said that protein will help satisfy appetite while fiber will clean the user's intestines of toxins left behind that may force your body to hold onto fat.

The website suggests a good protein source would be three ounces of fish, four ounces of lean white chicken, four ounces of tofu. Good samples of fiber include one cup of brown rice, one cup fresh berries, unlimited amount of steamed or sautéed vegetables like spinach, broccoli, asparagus, carrots and Brussel sprouts.

That's it. Happy flushing.
