Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are not just gorgeous, talented and famous. They’re also the “sexiest vegetarian celebrities of 2013,” according to PETA, which chose the couple from an impressive list of 100 celebrities that included Bill Clinton, Tobey McGuire, and Mike Tyson in the men’s category and Alyssa Milano, Anne Hathaway, and Christie Brinkley among women.
“Dax and Kristen — who went vegan together — have now earned the titles of PETA's Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity together,” said PETA’s website. Winners were selected based on several factors, including a vote.

Bell, 32, played the title role in the "Veronica Mars" television series about a high school crime solver, which ran from 2004 to 2007. She will continue the role in a film to be based on the series next year. Shepard, 38, has a leading role on the television show "Parenthood" and has appeared in several films, including "When in Rome," "Baby Mama," and "Let’s Go to Prison."
Engaged since 2009 and parents of 3-month-old daughter Lincoln,
the pair only decided to wed after the Defense of Marriage Act was struck down by the Supreme Court earlier this week, in deference to their gay friends, reported ABC News.
The couple became vegans together, but Bell’s vegetarianism dates from childhood.
“I had a lot of quirks as a child. One was that I didn’t like to eat meat: I didn’t like to chew it, didn’t like the taste or smell of it, and just wasn’t having any of it," she told Vegetarian Times.
Her choice stems from an early awareness of animal welfare, she told the magazine:
“When I was little, I loved my dogs so much. Part of my becoming a vegetarian was that I would look at my burger, then look at my dogs, and I wasn’t able to see a difference.”

She told the magazine she was also influenced by author Milan Kundera, “who said something like you can really judge people’s personalities based on how they treat those who are at their mercy — in other words, animals. That’s a great way to live, because a lot of creatures in this world are defenseless and we have to be compassionate and aware.”
